Method 1: Use your web browser (Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, etc)

You can split PDF documents into multiple files easily in your web browsers. Here is how to do it:

If you’re using Microsoft Edge

1.Right-click on the PDF document and selectOpen with >Microsoft Edge .

2. On your keyboard, pressCtrl andP at the same time to open the print window. If Microsoft Edge is not usingMicrosoft Print to PDF as its printer, you can clickthe downward arrow next to the printer type to selectMicrosoft Print to PDF .

3. Clickthe downward arrow in thePages section and selectCurrent page , then clickthe Print button to split the current page into a single PDF document.

4. You can also clickthe downward arrow in thePages section and selectPage range , type the page range you want to split, then click thethe Print button to print all the pages in the page range into a single PDF document.

5. In the pop-up window, name the PDF pages you split and clickthe Save button to save it.

If you’re using Google Chrome

1.Right-click on the PDF document and selectOpen with >Google Chrome .

3. SelectSave as PDF .

4.Type the page range you want to split, then click thethe Save button to save all the pages in the page range into a single PDF document.

5. In the pop-up window, name the PDF pages you split and clickthe Save button to save it.

Method 2: Use Adobe Acrobat Pro DC

Adobe Acrobat Pro DC is a powerful PDF tool that can help you split PDF document into multiple files. To split PDF via Adobe Acrobat Pro DC:

1. Click here and follow the on-screen instructions to sign up your Adobe ID. Once you sign in, you can start downloading Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

2. Install and run the application.

3. Navigate tothe Tools tab . Then clickthe Open button underOrganize Pages to open your PDF document.

4. ClickSelect a File .

5.Double-click the PDF document to open it in Adobe Acrobat Pro DC.

6. ClickSplit (the scissors icon). If you want to split your PDF documentby the number of pages , go ahead to enter the number of pages you want to have in every separate PDF documents after splitting. Then clickthe Split button . You can also slit your PDF document in other dimensions, includingfile size andtop level bookmarks .

7. ClickOK when you see the following message.

8. You can view those separated PDF documents in the original folder.

You can use the free trial version of Adobe Acrobat Pro DC forseven days . When the free trial ends, you may need to buy a license to continue to use this application without interruption.

Method 3: Use PDFelement

PDFelement is a user-friendly PDF editor that is available for Windows , Mac and iOS . It is small in size and it is easy to use. With PDFelement, you can get everything you need to do with PDF documents.

It just takes several clicks to split PDF documents with PDFelement. The following steps show you how to do it on Windows platform. The steps on macOS is similar.

1.Download and install PDFelement.

2. Run PDFelement. ClickEdit PDF .

3. In the pop-up window, locate the PDF document you want to split, thendouble-click on it to open in PDFelement.

4. Navigate tothe Page tab , select the pages you want to split,right-click on it, then selectExtract Page .

5. ClickOK to continue.

6. A second later, the separated PDF document will appearin a new tab . To save it, just pressCtrl andS at the same time on your keyboard.

The combined PDF file split by the trial version of PDFelement will be watermarked . This might be the only disadvantage of the free trial version of the software. If you don’t like the watermark, you may need to buy the Pro version of PDFelement.
